攀登 of Norwegian Friends

This route is maybe only 7a+/7b to the last bolt, and would be a classic bouldery route that grade if you clipped an extended anchor from just above the cave.

Clipping anchors was damn near impossible for me and felt way too hard for 7b+. Opted to clip an extended anchor THEN perform the final sequence and slapped the chains. Still felt soft 7b+ this way.

I don’t think a route’s entire grade should come from the difficulty of a single clip. 3-star climb with a 1-star finish.

Second shot. Reached the last (crux) hold on the onsight but couldn't stay on it. Tough anchor clip!!

Should have put the anchor at the bolt before. Would have been a 3 star 7a. That last clip is HARD.

About time. Tall person beta worked a treat.

Dog to warm up. Felt pretty good.

4 shots. After the second shot I managed to steal some tall guy beta that actually works for me. Unfortunately I'm a bit unfit at the moment and third shot my hand was tired. Fourth shot same. Still falling on last hold with one anchor clipped.

Again, clipped the first anchor, but this time to the last hold... I am weak.

So close! Could clip one anchor with the draw on but not the other. First shot I felt good. Worked out the move and could do it no problem... but I had sat on the rope prior to doing it. Second shot was all good til the last move... got one anchor in from the undercling but really have to get that last move to call it. Hands were just too fatigued to let one go to clip. But... haven't really done much in 6 months so not a bad start all considering...

damn it. got to the anchors clean 3 times.. cant clip the anchors from the pinch.

4 shots, the last 3 falling from the clipping holds. Every time I grabbed the final pinch it crumbled a bit more, leading me to believe that perhaps it was originally quite a bit better? real pity as the rest of the route is sweet as.
