De Flevopolder is een groot poldergebied in de Nederlandse provincie Flevoland. Het grondgebied van de Flevopolder bestaat uit de polders Oostelijk Flevoland en Zuidelijk Flevoland tezamen. De Flevopolder is dus, in tegenstelling tot wat de naam doet vermoeden, niet een enkele polder. Het gehele gebied is door mensenhanden aangelegd en vormt zowel het zwaartepunt van de Zuiderzeewerken als van de huidige provincie Flevoland. De twee onderdelen zijn ingepolderd tussen 1950-1957 respectievelijk 1959-1968.

The Zuiderzeewet that made it possible to construct the Flevopolder took effect on 14 June 1918. In 2018, to celebrate the hundredth anniversary of this Act, Bob Gramsma designed the Riff, PD#18245 monument. Like a gigantic, raised chunk of clay it sits on a flat, former agricultural plot in Dronten.

Make sure to bring a broom to clean the area from glass pieces. In summer it's good to have some pruning shears for the nettles.

There is a free parking lot nearby (51.474658,3.590312 or 51.481045,3.597271). From there it's a 10 to 15 minute walk to the bunker. There are more climbable bunkers on this path so have fun!

history

This bunker was part of the Antikwal landfront and was ment for land and Air defence. The holes of the anti-aircraft machinery are still on top of the bunker, making it easy to climb down from your top out. There is an information board where you can find more information abouts it's history.
