Summary

A ship-shaped piece of dark red sandstone in the Paradise canyon. Vertical to very steep climbing on interesting features on mostly solid rock in a beautiful setting.

Description

Routes are rather short and - with some exceptions - athletic. Some of the grades should probably be revised as the holds errode slowly and climbs get harder - so don't be surprised if a 5.10c is not the warm-up you expected.

Approach

From the trailhead of Chuckawalla follow the obvious dirt trail along the climbing area Chuckawalla for about 20 minutes. You will see Turtle Wall to your left. There is a sign "Climbing Access", follow the small trail to the wall.

Ethic

Please check the bolts when climbing at Turtle Wall - the sandstone is not super solid and most of the bolts are (still) expansion bolts.
