Routes in Malaysia for selected grade

Naga (Dragon) is an approximately 270m climb in 8 pitches on the South Tower.

The route has bolted anchors and bolts but is rather run-out especially on easier ground (making this an adventurous sport multipitch or mixed climb). A small set of cams from micros up to BD sizes 1 or 2 will help to mitigate that.

There are a couple of sections at the 6b/+ level but the majority of the climb is very accessible. Leaders should be experienced and comfortable at that grade.

Access to the climb is via the path up from Simukut Hiilview. A left turn at checkpoint #7 (following the "climbing point" sign) will take you to the base of the climb.

Descent can be done via the same way or down "Polish Princess". Please speak to Tam for more information on this.

Up to the left, following the veins in the rock. Don't climb to the right - loose rock likely to fall. Topping out isn't the best due to scrub, head to the left and come down the small gully to the left.

End at the same anchor for Bendera instead of the original one.

Run starts from R2D1 and keep running straight to the dyno for R2D2 and topout.

Stand start with left hand on the arete and right hand balance on the rock face. A full commitment jump to top out.

Stand start with both hands on crimp and direct launch to top out without using the arete.

Using the same start as On The Corner Of Main Street then traverse to the center part of the route then. Proceed to climb up the slab area then top out the boulder. Basically no protection on the start of the slab part, climb with caution.

Same start as When You're There but only but climb it on the overhang part of the rock. Beware of the hole right below the rock where you might fall into when you try to top out.

Crumbly foothold everywhere

First jump start boulder problem in Durian Valley. Recommend to use at least 4 crash pads for protection from the big shattered rocks below right below the boulder.

Joshua top out this boulder with his belly, makes him look like a beach whale. Sit start.
